What is the difference between v4 and v7?
v4 is fully random. v7 starts with a timestamp, so new IDs sort in creation order, which is faster for database indexes.
Can two UUIDs be the same?
In practice, no. The chance of a repeat is so small that it can be ignored, even across billions of IDs.
Are these secure?
