How do I check a download?

Choose File, drop the downloaded file and compare the SHA-256 value with the checksum published by the website. If they match, the file is intact.

Is MD5 secure?

No. MD5 and SHA-1 are fine for checking files but should not be used for passwords or security. Use SHA-256 or stronger.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Hashing happens in your browser, even for large files.

Can a hash be reversed?

No. A hash is a one-way fingerprint. You cannot get the original text back from it.
